Pretty Flowers

Here are some pretty flowers painted with acrylics. These are some simple roses in a field. I almost kept the background as a abstract. It was pretty cool, but I painted the flowers on anyway.

The funny thing is that I started playing chess when I was 6 and have been playing tournament level chess since the mid-70s. I became a master of the game a long time ago and play all the time, but this is the first chess themed painting I've done. Here is "The Usual Suspect". I'll let you figure it out.

This watercolor landscape features a ridgeline with a large rock outcropping. Another made up place based on a drawing of mine.

I have drawn several variants of this basic scene but this is the first time I painted it. Here it is as a watercolor landscape.

Cape Linn

A nice seascape painting of a cliff lined point stretching into the ocean. There is a city in the background in front of distant mountains. Linn means "cliff" by the way and is from Scottish Gaelic and its application of the name is my invention.

I had to do an orange sky painting in watercolor just to see the effect. Interesting.

Another crepe myrtle painting. I think this is the third one from this year. I can't help it. They are everywhere here. This group is in a yard about four blocks from where I live. I saw them when I was out for a walk. I decided to do them as a watercolor like I did the last one. Seems more suited to watercolor than acrylics for some reason.
